How Changing Your Mindset Can Change Your Life

Are you feeling lost and unfulfilled?

Do you lack direction and motivation in your life? If so, you are not alone. Many people struggle with finding their purpose in life, and it can be a painful experience.

Welcome to Topic Tuesday, where we discuss a specific topic related to business, finance, or life in general. Today, we will explore some of the struggles you might have if you don’t have a driving purpose in life.

What’s the Point?

Even if your needs are met, a life without purpose can feel meaningless and unfulfilling. There’s more to life than conveniences. Most people crave a level of convenience in their daily lives. Accomplishing things quickly and easily is not only productive, it can be encouraging. When you get to see that your efforts are adding up, it can be a motivating factor to continue.

But too much convenience can cause tasks and accomplishments to lack meaning. When things become convenient, they can be more easily taken for granted. If you struggled for the same thing someone else was given, your perspectives on the accomplishment probably won’t be the same.

It might be something you worked hard for, and that now you’re really proud of, while someone else could take the same thing as a given. It might seem pointless, useless, or unfulfilling to them. The same experience that was exhiliarating for one person might seem hollow to someone else.

How Anxiety Affects Motivation:

Feeling stressed? Anxiety often comes from feeling unprepared to deal with something. It doesn’t have to be something immediate, either; it’s very common for people to have anxiety about important things in their lives, whether they’re good things or bad ones. If you’re feeling anxious about something in your life, remember that it’s better to get it over with sometimes than to let the jitters stick you in place. Analysis paralysis can make you believe you need to think about it instead of taking action.

Operating without a clear sense of direction can be fine at first, so long as the immediate is taken care of. But eventually, if you’re paying attention, you’ll find that you probably experience many of the same problems. They might resurface weeks, months, or years apart. A purpose in life will give you the reasons you never knew you needed to resolve these issues for good, instead of passing the buck to your future self.

Lack Of Support

Although it might seem as though it’s only immediately relevant to you, not having a purpose in life can have adverse effects on your relationships as well. The fact is that a true purpose has the power to bring people together. When you’re trying everything you can in order to accomplish a goal, you’re eventually going to take the most important step to progress sometimes: you’ll try to get some help!

Throughout your journey to succeeding in your purpose, you’ll gladly hurdle obstacles instead of turning around, giving up, or looking for the easy route. Once you know why you’re here, you’ll know who you are. You’ll know what to do!
