Reboot Your Mindset | Dr. Slava

Working with as many patients as I do, I sometimes hear a very specific phrase. It’s a phrase that I just don’t like to hear. It’s not a an ugly name, or an unfunny joke. It’s not even a mean saying. As far as I know, it doesn’t offend anyone at all, but I never like to hear a person say this:

“I can’t.”

Welcome to Topic Thursdays, where we focus on a specific topic related to business, finance, or life in general. Today, I want to talk to you about physical and financial health.

I love helping people so much that I’ve made it my life’s work. I’m a doctor of physical therapy and am blessed by G-d to be able to help people overcome injuries. Getting hurt is the most obvious setback you can suffer in llife. Whether it’s a skinned knee, a sunburn, or a sprained ankle, it’s just about impossible to ignore physical damage to your body once it happens. In my work, I’ve seen injuries that can actually make you legitimately unable to do certain things safely.

Sometimes temporarily, and other times permanently, an injury changes how you go about your life. There are varying degrees of course, but all the damage you take usually causes at least some change. If you just ignore that sunburn and don’t heal it before your next sunny outing, you’ll probably get burned again. If you try to ignore a sprained ankle, you can really hurt yourself permanently. You have to care for your injuries.

Health & Fitness

Because of the obvious connection to our physical selves, it’s often our own instincts that tell us that we need to protect and care for any physical injuries. Even if it takes a doctor to carry out treatment, we can usually tell when something is wrong with our ankle, wrist, or back. But you are more than just your physical self.

Aside from just your physical self, you have other selves. You have a spiritual self, through which you experience the wonders and blessings of G-d. You have a financial self, that allows you to maneuver in society with other people. You also are a part of a family, which is almost like an extension of all of your selves.

When you get physically hurt, suffer an injury, or fall sick with an illness, you can see it. Having your physical health in order is always a blessing, but don’t forget about your other selves. You can feel it, and often others can sense injuries and illnesses, too. But how much damage have you taken in other areas of your life that need fixing?

Financial Literacy

In order to be successful, you have to make investments. A good investment can help you save  and make enough money. But if you happen to make a bad investment choice for whatever reason, it’s going to cost you. Some investments are riskier than others, and figuring out which ones are right for you can be a real challenge.

It all depends. It’s just as easy to sign on the right dotted line as it is to sign the wrong form entirely; you’re still just writing your name. Signing a lucrative contract and signing a scam document both require exactly the same muscles. The real skill of maneuvering through contracts and agreements is knowing which forms you should sign, which ones you should avoid, and why.

I’m dedicated to helping people improve their lives in all aspects. Yes, I’m a doctor; but I’m also an entrepreneur. I want good health for everyone I come across, financially, physically, and otherwise. About 47% of the general public don’t feel comfortable managing short and long term financial goals. Whether or not those people are actually physically healthy, they aren’t completely in control of their overall health

Getting hurt or sick can be so expensive even the richest man can soon be broke because of medical expenses. Without the balance of overall health in life, a massive amount of money can turn into a liability. Success in only one aspect can cost you in others. It can be dangerous, or cost you your relationships; even with those closest to you.  If you’re really trying to improve your life, and you’re not leaning on your ego, you’ll want a level of balance and harmony not just within yourself, but with your finances, too.

If you’re really ready to make a serious change that’s going to improve your entire overall life, and you’re not leaning on your ego, I want to meet with you. Schedule a free one-on-one consultation with me to get started on your journey!
